Match Play~Final Round 7/11/2009

What an exciting week! The four day tournament about killed me-I get so nervous about it all, I have no idea how the kids stay so composed! I woke up REALLY early this morning and laid in bed for a couple of hours. Finally around 5ish I got out of bed and hung out in the family room until I heard Jaden in his room getting up. He had an early tee time so they had to leave around 6:30, I didn't want them to oversleep so I worried all night long that the alarm wouldn't go off! I went in to check on him and he said "I wanted to get up at six and I woke up just in time at 5:59"-he was so proud of himself that he beat his internal clock!
The little kids and I made it just in time to head to the first hole with Jaden and Adam. Watching Jaden for the entire round was so exciting-I would start to think OH NO he is going to lose this hole-and he would pull it together and win! He amazes me!

The fourth hole my heart about jumped out of my chest as Jaden landed in the bunker on his second shot. Then it practically stopped when his bunker shot FLEW completely over the green! I don't know how he kept it together but his next chip shot landed softly on the green about 25 feet from the hole. If he makes his putt he wins. If he two putts they tie on the hole but Jdog would still win. If he three putts they move on to the 5th hole.
He putts, I hold my breath, it stops just inches from the hole, he taps it in for the tie, and wins the tournament!

The mixture of exhaustion, excitement, and being SO proud of Jaden brought tears to my eyes! He has worked SO hard this season, and to see it payoff for him is such an amazing feeling! Way to go Big Dog! Your hard work has paid off-you deserve this-enjoy it!

Wow! I get so into the kids' golf posts, they're so fun to read! That one was intense with the suspenseful progression :) congrats to him, that's great! The only thing is that they play in so many tournies, I can never tell which ones are more important than others. This one seemed like a bigger deal though.

By the way, I went to HS with Meghan- is she their coach or something?
