Four Day Tournament, Day one~7/8/2009

Today was day one of the four day final JAG tournament. Today they held a normal tournament at Southgate-tomorrow through Saturday will be match play, held at a different course each day, and you only move on if you win.
As we waited to tee off on #1 I looked over and saw Jaden and Adam walking up #2 fairway. Jaden asked me the other day if I would send Adam with a camera so he could have some pictures of himself golfing. I told him his dad can't handle taking a camera along-Adam tells me we are out here to play golf not take pictures-if he were a mom he would understand! So I snapped a few of the two boys walking up to Jdog's awesome drive-and his chip shot was even better-landing softly on the green, near the flag! Way to go big dog!
Bailia got ready to hit her drive on #5-nice swing-nice follow through, WAIT where did the ball go? Crap it shot left, right into the water! Or so we thought. It landed on the waters edge and after a few minutes we decided she could hit it out, instead of take a drop. Being the rough and rowdy girl that she is, Bailia couldn't wait to take her shoes off and go for it. And go for it she did! Ankle deep in black stinky mud, you would have thought the girl was on tour! Mud flew everywhere, including in her mouth, but all that she cared about was that she hit a killer shot out onto the fairway! Grandpa Gary came to watch at the start of the hole-thank goodness he showed up just in time to help wash her off!
When we played Southgate last Grandpa Williams came to caddy for Bailia. I couldn't remember which club she hit on #6 last time so I called my dad to ask, he told me her hybrid. So when we made it to #6 Bailia did NOT want to hit her hybrid-she wanted to hit her Nike Fairway wood, she said it is what she used last time. So I called Grandpa Williams so he could talk some sense into her. It didn't work. Finally I told her to hit whatever club she wanted, it was her decision. That's all it took and she switched to her hybrid.
She hit a great shot, landing 15-20 feet from the hole. I love the picture of her trying to get her birdie putt to go in-SO CLOSE! At least she made par!
After the round Adam and I were talking about which club she used-and that I had called my dad-it turns out it was her Nike that she used last time! Adam said she didn't even have that club in her bag when we played Southgate last time! The girl has a memory like an elephant!

Today Jaden hit a few hazards, but still shot a 30 taking 1st place. Bailia shot a 41 and took 5th in the 10 and under! Way to go Jdog and Sis-Good luck tomorrow!
