Dixie Round-Up 9/18/2010

Birthday Bash! 9/18/2010

Bailia had her first ever friend party. My rule is "every other year" friend party, family party. But every year they are supposed to have a friend party, I seem to talk them out of it. This year Bailia begged to have a friend party, and at the last minute I said yes. I had four days to plan the party, and I just happened to have it on one of our busiest days! A had gone out of town, I went to pick up my bountiful basket at 7:00 (just to find out that they had the wrong time on the computer so they were an hour behind schedule), then we raced to Bailia's soccer game at 9:00, finished at 10:15 picked up the cake from Costco, headed home to change & pick Kenna & Jake up, went to the party (thank you Barefoot for doing everything!), finished the party raced home to have Koda change into his soccer gear, went to his game at 2:00, and finished the crazy day at the rodeo at 6:30! Whew! But we all survived, and Bailia loved every single second of her party!

Soccer~Game Two~9/18/2010

One for the memory books...
Koda's game started at two~it was HOT! Bailia decided to sit under a shade tree not far from the field. Around half time she came over and sat by us, then started complaining how hot it was.
I asked her why she didn't stay under the shade tree. She said because the lady sitting next to me keeps swearing at the phone saying really bad words, even the F word.
Do you know what the F word is?
She hesitated for a moment and said I don't know but she said @#*%, is that it?
She said THE word, and to top it off she said it like she was asking for a piece of candy that she didn't know if she could have!
Now, I myself have a mouth like a sailor. I REALLY need to work on it. I picked up my lovely habit when I worked on the maintenance crew for almost ten years. I was the only girl on the crew, enough said.
But I hate that word. Wait. That may be an understatement. I despise THAT word.
Then to hear my daughter say it? I about died, or maybe I did die, because when I snapped back into reality I was a totally different person. I took leaps and bounds out of my comfort zone and I marched over to the lady.
She was a middle aged, platinum hair, make-up like a clown, mini dress, five inch heels, smacking her gum, woman at a kids soccer game.

I said Excuse ma'am. I don't mean to be rude (why did I say this, she is the one who just taught my daughter the F word?!) , but I would like to ask you to watch your language, especially around children.
What are you talking about, she smacked.
My daughter was sitting right next to you, and she had to leave because your language was so upsetting!
She, of course, denied it, saying that she didn't say anything. But the look on her face told another story, like she had just been caught stealing a cookie from the cookie jar! No question, she was guilty.
I asked her nicely one more time to think about her language next time, and I turned and walked away. I was shaking like a leaf as I walked away, but I was also very proud that I actually stood up for my girl.

The kids . . . 9/11/2010

Kicks Soccer~Game One~9/11/2010

Bailia is so funny. Every time she steps onto the field, her game face is on. She is one tough cookie! Well, until she makes a goal, then it's awe shucks, did I do that?! She wants to jump up and down cheering and celebrating, but you see her hesitate wondering if it alright to cheer for herself. Cheer all you want Sis, you made the only three goals your team had! Way to go!

Labor Day weekend fun~ 9/6/2010

We spent Labor Day weekend fishing at Sand Hollow, New Castle, & Kolob. The kids also spent a lot of time playing, while I made peach jelly (thanks for the peaches Nan & Larry) and chili sauce!
I can already tell the boat was a VERY good investment! We have gone out as a family twice already, Jdog has gone three times, and A has taken it out five times. It is so much fun, we are already making lifelong memories!

I could hear the kids laughing outside, when I looked out my window I saw a huge mess, I mean creation. I tiptoed outside to listen to what they were up to. I came in at the end of a very serious conversation between Bailia and Koda about who they could hire to help run the Steak and fish taco restaurant, while Jdog and Kenna (who both will kill me for posting this story-sorry guys) were away on their honeymoon. Jdog wasn't even a part of their little make believe restaurant, so where they came up with this scenario is beyond me! They are so funny sometimes!
