Vday class parties! 2/12/2010

I have been wanting to journal this for a few days, and even though this has nothing to do with this post, other than love, I need to write it down before I forget. Things have been crazy around here (what else is new) but I feel SO busy right now! I am usually up, and out of bed making breakfast and packing lunches by 6:00-6:30, every morning. Last week I felt A touching me on the shoulder, while I lay sleeping, cautiously saying Mori, are you ok? Yes, why, I asked puzzled, still half asleep. Oh good, it's 7:18 and you are not up, I thought you were dead, I didn't even want to touch you. Laughing, I said of course I'm not dead, dead tired maybe, but not dead! I am serious, I honestly thought you were dead, it scared me!
Maybe this is a
sign telling me to stop doing so much! But who am I kidding, if I don't do it who will, right?
Jaden and Bailia brought home a note on Monday, saying that they could decorate a box for their Valentine goodies. Sweet, I thought to myself I will do paper mache for the kids, they will LOVE it!

Note to self: Paper Mache takes FOREVER to dry when it is stormy outside! Plus, when you are so busy you forget to brush your teeth in the morning (luckily I realized I had forgotten as soon as I pulled out of the garage) don't try taking on yet another project!
To make a long story short I did three layers, waking up at five every morning to put another layer on, one more layer would have been PERFECT, but I ran out of time. It would have been such a cute hot air balloon with painted hearts and glitter, but it wouldn't have been strong enough to hold the all of the Valentine's. Luckily I have an easy going son, and we used a trusty oatmeal container instead! He made it Thursday night right before bed, talk about last minute! But it turned out darling, and did the job just fine!

Jaden, Kenna, and Kaylee were workers at the school store today, so they left their party early to eat lunch before they opened the store. Koda asked if we could eat with them-I am not a fan of the pizza so I just paid for him. I either ate ANYTHING as a kid, or school lunch just isn't the same! Honestly everything that the school serves now days (seriously am I getting so old that I just said NOW DAYS?) comes frozen, and the lunch ladies just heat it up! What happened to the lunch ladies that would actually come in and cook? Maybe that is my calling in life-becoming a chef at my kids school so that they can have a decent meal! The kids all looked so grown up working at the school store. Honestly, where does the time go?!

As soon soon as Bailia walked into her class from recess, she ran over to me saying come over to my backpack! I went over and she pulled out her Valentine from Kyler-a light up heart pen, and 5 plastic heart containers, filled with candy! She loved it! She gave Kyler a Velcro game that you play catch with, called the Perfect Catch-how easy was that for the kids to give to their favorite Valentine's! They wrote in their cards-I think you are a Perfect Catch!

After leaving Bailia's class I headed to Jdog's party. Of course I had my camera in hand, and as much as the kids get sick of me taking their pictures, one day they will thank me!
I went to take a picture of Kenna and Kate and they threw their arms around each other. The girls' conversation somehow turned into telling Kenna that she should put her arm around Jaden.
She started giggling no, no no-everyone will see me-that would be SO embarrassing!

Kate jumped in and said I will do it, take our picture! See Kenna it's easy! Way to take one for the team Katelyn!

Then, I said to Kenna, aren't you guys best friends? Yes, she said. Then he is no different from your other friends, except he is a boy! She looked him up and down, then asked, will he grow his hair out like a girl for me?
With that, they all giggled and Jaden and Kenna put their arms around each other for their Valentine's picture-too cute!

Jaden will be a very thoughtful husband one day. He has been thinking for a few weeks now about what he wanted to get Kenna for Valentine's Day, what guy does that?
He decided to hit Target once again, his store of choice for jewelry. I said do you think she gets sick of you giving her jewelry? Why would she, he asked, she wears everything I give her! Good point!
He decided on a necklace that has a circle pendant with a little heart in the middle. On the circle it reads: A Circle is round and has no end, that's how long I want to be your friend!
