Field Trip #2 Dinosaur Museum~5/5/2010

We had a lot of fun on the dinosaur museum field trip today! We walked from the school down to the museum. It was SO warm and sunny that I even got a sunburn! A lot of the kids complained that they were too hot, but I will take heat over wind any day! I am SO sick of the wind blowing, and I am sitting here listening to it howl outside my window right now! YUCK!
It is so funny to hang around the kids and listen to what they talk about. Kate had Koda laughing so hard, he couldn't breath! We made it to the museum and the kids all loved learning more about fossils. They have been talking about them for weeks, and it was fun for them to have a real visual to put with all they have learned.
I was amazed by Koda, he LOVED the tour and wouldn't leave the group even for a second for me to take his picture, because "Mom I don't want to miss anything."
After the tour guide told us about a particular fossil, the group started to move on. But Kate sat a looked at it for a minute then looked up at me and said "huh, I think it looks like a pile of poop!" She is such a goofball, and I, of course, had to get her picture with the "poop!"
After the tour we went outside to dig for fossils, the kids all loved it! Then it was time for lunch! We stopped at the park halfway back to school to enjoy our sack lunches. Then the kids climbed trees, played on the playground, played basketball, and relaxed in the shade before heading back to school.
We had a great time and look forward to field trip number three!
