Symptoms include:

Anyway, the sharing time went well, and they all seemed to enjoy it. So just in case I ever need another story on how to "Prepare while young to become a Mother or a Father" or doing your best, I am going to write it down.
My class acted out the story while Jaden read it. At the end we handed out Rice Krispie treats that I had shaped and decorated into pumpkins, strawberries, and watermelon. I forgot to take pictures of the treats before primary, so these are the mashed leftovers, minus the pumpkins because we didn't have any leftover.
The Story of the Best Family.
There once was a little family that lived in a nice home surrounded by fields, trees, and streams.
There was Momma Best, Papa Best, and their three children
Tried-er Best,
Half-is Best, and
Not-er Best.
Momma and Papa Best wanted to teach their children all that they could about life. They taught them how to cook their meals, and fix things around the house. They taught them how to fold their clothes, and clean their rooms.
One day the children decided they should each start a garden. Tried-er Best went to the hardware store with Papa and bought all of the things she thought she would need to start her garden. Not-er Best didn't feel like going to the store that day, so she asked Tried-er to pick up a few packs of seeds for her. Half-is Best went with Papa and Tried-er, but he didn't think that buying all of that stuff was necessary so he just bought a few things.
Tried-er went home and started working on her garden, raking, pulling weeds, planting seeds, and watering the soil. Half-is started on his garden too but he got tired of raking, and the weeds were getting hard to pull, so he planted his seeds and watered the soil. Not-er Best watched Tried-er and Half-is and thought that it looked like too much work-she figured that all of that work didn't have to be done, so she sprinkled her seeds on the ground and poured water over them.
As the days went on,Tried-er went out every morning to weed, water, and tend to her garden. Her fruits and vegetables were sprouting up and looking great! Half-is got a little busy and forgot to water his garden some days, and the weeds were starting to get really big, but he had a few sprouts popping up, so he knew it wouldn't be long before he would be able to pick some delicious fruit and vegetables from his garden! Not-er wondered why Tried-er and Half-is already had a fruits and vegetables growing, and she didn't have anything! But she checked on her garden once in a while, and figured that since it had rained last week, and there was another storm coming in, that her garden was getting plenty of water and it wouldn't be long before she had something growing too!
Finally it was time to PICK! Momma and Papa Best decided to have a big feast to celebrate all of their hard work.-Momma told each of the kids to go pick some of the best things from their garden and they would eat it with their dinner! Tried-er gathered her fruits and vegetables and put them in her buckets, she had more than enough to chose from! Half-er went to pick and had a nice bucket of fruits and vegetables to gather, but wondered why he didn't have as much as Tried-er! Not-er went out to see what had grown in her garden and couldn't believe her eyes! There in her garden was the BIGGEST Weed patch she had ever seen!
I don't understand she cried to her parents! Why did Half-is and Tried-er's gardens produce fruits and vegetables and mine didn't?
As they ate their supper Momma and Papa explained to the children that in order to create a garden that will produce many wonderful fruits and vegetables, you need to prepare early, work hard, nurture, love, and take pride in your garden.
To prepare yourself to become a mother or a father is just like having a garden. You must learn, and do as much as you can while you are young, and as you grow. You must be reliable, honest, helpful, loving, and willing to learn.
Try to do everything that you can while you are young to help yourself grow into a respectable adult.
Help your mom and dad cook and clean, mow the yard and pull the weeds.
Help watch a neighbors children while they go out.
Help the elderly by getting their mail, or running errands for them.
Always serve others with a happy heart, you will be blessed, you will grow, you will learn, and you will be more prepared to become a mother or a father when the time comes. I hope that we can all have gardens as plentiful as Tried-er.
After primary the kids came home and immediately wanted to play with my sharing time stuff. Tried-er, Half-is, and Not-er live inside each of my children. Depending on the day they will either try their hardest, a little bit, or not at all! They went out back to "plant" the seeds and played GREAT together for 3 hours without ANY fighting!! I love it when they actually TRY to get along!
