Ten years later and THE dress still fits! As I tried to get my house clean today I ran across my wedding dress. I remember all of the drama (not much, but some) that came along with the dress. I found this dress, of all places, here in town! But what if there were better dresses elsewhere?
So, my sister, mom, and I made a quick trip down to Vegas to find a better dress. That didn't happen.
But did I really want to spend $1100.00 on a dress that I would wear ONCE? Adam would have preferred me to find a cheaper dress, but since he wanted me to be happy (still does), he said to do whatever I wanted. It cost us more than we paid for our wedding dinner, and we really could have used the money elsewhere.
I was working at Southgate, and Adams Fine Jewelry, A was almost done with his Masters, just working side jobs when he could. Money was tight, but in the end I bought the dress. I loved the dress, and I still do! It is SO plain, yet has a touch of sparkle.
It was a little wrinkled as I pulled it out of the box. I laughed to myself thinking it has aged like I have! A few wrinkles (why do laugh lines not make women look "distinguished"?), it is not as full as it used to be (could my hair get any bigger), and it has a little discoloration-my face defiantly had better color-and holy cow talk about round baby face-does that even look like me?!
Koda laughed so hard when I came in wearing the dress and said to him, let's get married. I can't marry you he giggled- I can't even DRIVE! Oh good point, I said. OK we will just have wedding pictures then! We had a good laugh taking turns posing in the wedding dress!
I honestly can't believe in a couple of weeks A and I will celebrate our TEN year anniversary! Are we really THAT old?!? We have gone through SO much together over the past ten years, and I wouldn't have wanted to go through life's ups and downs with anyone else!

OKAY ... first of all, LOVE the pictures of you and A. Secondly, TOTALLY NOT FAIR that you still fit into your wedding dress. I couldn't even get my left foot into mine now. Oh well!
