I have been so busy that I totally forgot to post the pictures of Koda's field trip to the dentist! We went on a walking field trip, October 28, to Jeremy Scholzen's office-if we didn't already have a dentist this is where I would take my kids! Not only is the waiting room entertaining, but they call the kids back and they get to go through their own little door! Once back in the back they lay back on the chair, put their headphones on, and watch a little TV! Then to top it off when you are finished watching TV and they send you on your way you get to pick a new book, a balloon, toothpaste, and a toothbrush to take home with you-every time you visit! Koda was in awe! He wants to change dentists, of course, so that he can watch TV!
I got a call last night telling me that Jaden had won the reflections contest, and that they were having an assembly today, but was told not to tell him that he had won! So I told Jaden I would be there just in case he did win. He sat anxiously, waiting for the winners to be announced, he was SO excited when they called his name! This has been my favorite reflections ever-he entered in the photography category (odd I know) and he picked a few of his favorite pictures, and I uploaded them to Costco's website-I clicked on make a collage, and bam it was finished! I didn't have to help any more than that! Bailia wanted to enter but we never got around to it, and Koda said, is it something I have to do? No, I told him. Sweet, then I won't do it! He is such a silly kid! As I picked Jaden up from school he said, I am sad that Kenna didn't win. My stomach was in knots all morning wondering if we would win! I asked if she was OK that she didn't win and he said yes-she came over to me and told me congratulations- so I know she is fine. :)
I told him I found out last night that he had won.
WHY in the world did you not tell me!?!?
Some things in life are worth waiting for the answer, I told him.
Ya, but still you should have told me!
What a busy, fun filled day! We started off the day with the most INTENSE soccer game of the year! First of all we forgot to take Bailia's earrings out, and she ran over and gave them to Adam. He said, I wonder if these would still go through my earring hole after 17 years? Of course they will I said, as I SHOVED them through-it brought tears to his eyes because I shoved it so hard-but he survived, and even smiled for the pictures!!
We played the green team, they were good! We were down 2-0 at half time! Bailia runs over after halftime and said, I volunteered to be goalie! My heart stopped. In the past Bailia hasn't enjoyed being goalie, therefore not being a very good one.
She did a great job! One goal got by her, but she stopped three after that! Her drop kicks went flying and they scored their little hearts out in the second half. We won the game 4-3! Way to go Dynamite! A big thank you goes out to Coach! He is by far THE best coach around! He can boost the girls confidence, and get them to play as a team, better than the million dollar NFL coaches out there! Thanks Yale for making this soccer season GREAT!
Bailia's costume was ordered the end of August. Plenty of time for it to get here before Halloween, right? The lady that made it told me 4-6 weeks-perfect that means the first week or two of October. Well the end of October comes and still NO costume. The lady will not respond to me, and I have no idea what to do! She finally sent me an e-mail saying they had a bad storm move through (what that has to do with sewing I have no idea) and that it would be to me by Monday the 26th for sure!
Bailia wore Koda's wizard costume to her school party, and Koda wore the old lion costume-which he loved! Then after school on Friday we came home to find a package on the doorstep! Little Bo Peep had made it! Odd that it would be here by the 26th when the package clearly shows that she mailed it on the 28th! She looked DARLING in her costume, and everything turned out great!
Then we headed over to our ward Chili cook off/ Trunk or Treat party. I am NOT a fan of Trunk or Treat, but since they did it at 3:30 instead of during Trick or Treating I said ok, when they asked me (they wanted all primary teachers to be there) to come. They also needed someone to bring a pot of Chili-I said ok-which I found out after I volunteered that it was a contest. So if I am going to enter a contest I might as well win, right?!? I made two different pots of chili-with recipes I will call "Dump and Taste". Adam always tells me I should write these things down as I go, but I don't! They were both good, but were they the winning chili? So I dumped them both together, and lo and behold I took 1st place!
Then-in the kids opinion- the most exciting part of the day-Trick-or-Treating! As always they collected too much candy, gave me a good workout, and had a great time! I took the kids around, while Adam stayed home to hand out candy. We had double the amount of Trick-or-Treaters come to our house this year, compared to last. We must not be a very popular street-last year we had three groups come. This year we had six groups-INCLUDING our kids! Oh well...Happy Halloween to all, and to all a good night!

Our entire weekend went by like a whirlwind, so when A said, let's go look for deer I thought it was a great idea! Driving in the hills is always SO relaxing! We started up in to Oak Grove and the kids asked about a sign-Adam said we've been there before right? I said no what is it-he stopped and backed up to park. We started walking down a nice trail, and ended up at this HUGE Kiln! I think it said it was built in 1859-it was awesome, and the kids LOVED it!
Then after exploring for a little bit, and enjoying the beautiful colors of fall, we decided to find a can and shoot Dog's gun at it! Let the competition begin! Jaden did really well, Sis just wanted to better than he did, and Koda could not hit the can!

Then after trying probably 50 times, just as we were getting ready to leave, Koda FINALLY hit the can! Everyone JUMPED and CHEERED for him! It was hilarious to see how excited we all were, like he'd won the lottery, or something!
