Golf, Looking back, and Career Report! 3/18/2009

What BEAUTIFUL weather we have been having for our spring vacation! We are halfway through our break, which means the kids are sick of each other, they fight ALL day, and I am ready to get back into a routine! Bailia got to go swimming at her cousins birthday party, which put me down to two kids. Then A decided to take Jdog golfing out to Coral Canyon!! Which put me down to my usual sidekick! While the big kids were out having fun Koda and I ran to the store to get the things needed for J's book report. It is SO much easier to shop with one rather than the three I dragged to the grocery store earlier that day!

While cleaning out my picture drawers the other day I ran across my old pay stub from 1996. I worked at Southgate Golf Course-and on this pay stub I worked 92 hours in a two week period and brought home $439.21!! I think a few months after I got hired to be a full time employee which paid me double and added health insurance-thank goodness!
I also found this old picture of my BEST friend in the whole world!! I think we were even friends before we became sisters!! I LoVe you Jen!
Bailia has to do a career report for her 2nd grade class. She has to interview someone (she is interviewing Nikki-thanks again Nikki) who has a career and write about that, write on the career she would like to have (oddly she wants to become a golfer-I have NO idea how she would get that idea in her head-note the major sarcasm in my voice), and create a doll that goes along with what she wants to be. It make me laugh every time I look at it, but I love how it turned out!

Kindergarten Check up & Mole Play 3/17/2009

Koda Bear had his Kindergarten Check-up and did great! He had to get four shots and was quite a trooper-(the nurse wasn't very gentle and actually gave Koda a bruise!) So after the doctor I took the kids out for ice cream and bought Coop a package of spiderman stickers.
When we got home, Coop stripped down to his underoos and put his stickers ALL over himself-which miraculously turned him INTO spiderman! His legs that were "too sore to walk" suddenly could jump and fly off of the couch!
I honestly can't believe that my "BABY" will be in big kid school! He can't wait, I on the other hand do not know what I am going to do without my little sidekick! I love having him home with me and it will be a very bitter sweet time when I have to send him to school. But like the doctor said-he is SO ready for school! He kept asking Coop questions just to hear his answers-Koda talks with his hands a lot~ which adds SO much emotion to his responses and the doctor couldn't get enough of it!

The kids practiced ALL day long on a play for us! The used a book off of their book shelf called Moles in Love to act out plus added in the basketball 16 minutes scene in from High School Musical. They were all SO cute getting into their parts-Bailia was the narrator, and the boys were the characters in the book. They were so proud of themselves-and it gave us a little night time entertainment!

Grocery Savings 3/18/2009

Here is my shopping trip for today - 14 Boxes of Pop-tarts, 2 packages of cookies, 10 boxes of Rice Krispies treats, 3 packages of gum, and 14 boxes of cereal. Before sales and coupons the total was $119.44 and I paid $26.75! My kids have never even tasted a pop-tart but I figured even if they don't like them if times were tough a pop-tart would taste like the best thing on the planet!

Keelee's Soccer Game & Playing Football! 3/14/2009

Kimberly and family were down for Keelee's Soccer game so we headed over to watch. Bailia LOVED watching Keelee play-I think she was taking a few pointers on how the big girls play!
Keaton had his football there, so all of the boys started playing catch-which turned into hours of fun!

Moms & Muffins, Bubbles, and State Championship! 3/11-14/2009

Every year the kids' school has a Mom's & Muffins morning. You bring your mom and your favorite book to school before school, they serve you the enormous Costco muffins and milk or juice for breakfast, and you read while you eat.
Koda Bear LOVES taking bubble baths-this bath a a bit more bubbles than bath!
Cooper loves his Harley Girl SO much! They play together all day while the kids are at school. He makes her do a lot of things she probably doesn't want to-but she does it anyway!
Jaden had his final meet-the State Championship- yesterday in Lindon. It is always bitter-sweet when any of the kids sports seasons come to an end. I love watching them compete-but on the other hand, one less thing to run around doing the better! But Gymnastics Season will be replaced by Golf Season!
Jaden's coaches are SO great with the boys! I love how they encourage and coach the kids-making them work HARD but still making it fun so they love the sport.
Thanks to Kolby and Grandpa for coming down to the meet! We were there at 7:15 in the morning-thinking we would be there alone - then Kolby shows up at 8:00 and my dad came shortly after! Jaden got SO excited to see them both there and loves all of the support!

Bailia's First Soccer Game! 3/7/2009

Let the Season Begin!! Bailia had her first soccer game of the season on Saturday. She could not wait to get out on the field!
It was COLD, she played hard, and took a hard ball to the face!

She had a really hard time losing-she was actually really mad-and could not believe they had lost. She apparently forgot about last soccer season where they maybe won two games (but I think they won only once). So she has informed me that they WILL win the next game-so look out OWLS there is a spunky little RED HAWK coming your way!

Saying Goodbye and Very Best Friends! 3/7/2009

Saying goodbye to the gigantic black head that has accompanied Matt everywhere he has gone the past few months was bitter sweet. That little thing drove me crazy, it did NOT want to come out, yet when I finally got the little bugger out, I wanted to squeeze another one out! It is a sickness that I have that I love, yet hate. Squeezing out black heads, zits, cleaning out the wax in ears, is SO disgusting to me-yet I can't get enough of it. Well, so long giant black head! For my little guys sake I hope you never come back, but for mine...Just kidding!

Koda and Sis have the CUTEST relationship. She can get him to do almost anything she wants him to-which is why my poor little guy has so many pictures in his sisters clothes! Here she had decided that it was time to give Koda a dance lesson. And we all know that you can not have a proper dance lesson without the proper dance attire!
Changing outfits for different types of dances was a must in Miss Bailia's class! But Cooper did not mind-he is game for anything!
While looking at the pictures of my little goof balls it makes me laugh, yet I feel so sad at the same time. I wish I could cherish these days more-not feel so uptight all of the time. I know the dishes can wait, the laundry that is piled up can wait until tomorrow, and the floors don't need to be vacuumed again. Yet I find myself day after day getting caught up in the whirl wind of being the perfect everything to everyone. Then I ask myself-does it really matter? No! So why can't I let go of the perfection I long for? Because I know in a few short years my kids will be grown and out of the house, and I will sit thinking about the things I should have done...

Thursday (February 26th) afternoon my Grandpa Williams (my dad's dad) died. They held his service the following day. The kids and I had planned to leave Friday anyway for a Meet for J in Ogden. We left a little earlier than planned on Friday and were somehow able to make it to the viewing, and the burial in Salt Lake (drive time 3 hours and 20 minutes-without speeding! Someone must have been watching over us)! After the service we went out to lunch with my parents and brothers, before heading up to Ogden to stay the night before Jaden's Gymnastics Meet the following day.

We drove what seemed like forever that day. The kids and I were SO happy to finally get to the hotel. The first thing they wanted to do (of course) was swim! Off to the pool we went, along with at least 25 other people! YUCK! Needless to say their swim time was cut VERY short!

The following day Jaden had his meet-in Ogden-and I must say that Ogden is not a very nice place. Some parts scared me, and some parts were just not well kept. We went to a grocery store to pick up a few snacks for the kids and the parking lot was like a land mine!! There were pot holes that were three feet wide! So even though I complain that St George is getting way to busy-I do think we live in the most BEAUTIFUL place in Utah!
Good Job on your Meet Big Dog!

After the meet we were debating (while sitting at a standstill in road construction in Ogden) if we would stay with my parents or try to make it home. Still trying to decide once we were on the freeway, Jaden made the decision VERY easy for us when he looked over at me about the time we were coming up on Orem and said Ugghh, I don't feel very well the world is spinning!
Don't you dare puke in the truck I told him!! (I swear I am the meanest mom alive!) It turned out he was ok, but I think we were just ALL sick of being in the car for so long! So I called Adam and told him to place a bid on priceline-he won the Marriott in Provo for $44 including taxes and fees. Perfect!
So I took the kids to dinner and we went to check into the hotel. When we arrived the girl asked us if we wanted to pay a little extra to upgrade-I told her No thanks, we were just happy to have someplace nice to rest our heads for the night. Well she upgraded us anyway to a suite, for FREE!!

The kids had a great time swimming at the MUCH quieter, and warmer pool in the Provo Marriott that only had two other people there! When we went back to the room the kids were out like a rock, and woke up happily to room service for breakfast! YUM!

The kids had a fun week at school, celebrating Dr. Seuss! First they had hat day, followed by silly socks day! The kids had a blast with it!

Suffering from SMS!! 3/5/2009

I, Marcia Milne, suffer from Super Mom Syndrome! (don't we all?)

My efforts in trying to become Super Mom were cut short today. When I got home from volunteering at the school today I really wanted to plop on the couch under a nice cozy blanket, and read a good book until the kids got home from school! But instead went about my day cleaning the house. While cleaning I decided to straighten up the

in doing so I saw the butter and decided to make

and when I went to put away the baking soda...

Oh the joys of trying to be wonder woman never seems to work out the way I want it to! I guess I have been wanting a new S&P set anyway....

He's Back!!!

I have LOVED Tiger since he turned professional in 1996! Now after 8 MONTHS off of the tour, because of reconstructive knee surgery, he will return for the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, a 126-hole match-play event. With Tiger back, Golf is worth watching again! No doubt this will be a very exciting tournament-that begins today!

Movie day with the gang! 2/20/2009

My kids were SO excited when High School Musical 3 finally came out! I told them we would have movie day after school on Friday-but I didn't tell them that I invited some friends over as well! They were all excited when I picked them up from school to get home to watch the movie, but even more so when Cooper told them that I had invited friends as well!
All of the kids had a GREAT time, with lots of snacks (I think I went through at least four or five bags of popcorn and a batch of cookies!) and a fun movie!
Koda and Jake were bored with the movie within the first hour, so they headed out back to shoot some hoops. After the kids finished the movie they went out to play a game of 2-hand touch football! Koda got sick of that as well very quickly, because the kids would not throw the ball to him enough. So he and Molly decided hula hooping would be a lot more fun!
I am so glad that my kids have such GREAT friends, that live so close! Thanks everyone for coming over-see you next time!

Coupons, Coupons, Coupons! 2/18/2008

As I have heard through the grapevine, many are shocked that I am a coupon shopper! Some don't believe it, some want in on the secrets, and some have even asked if I am embarrassed about it! Well here is my answer to that. Here is a picture of $290.62 worth of groceries. I paid $60.46, embarrassed? I think not!!

The urge to go back into Albertsons was too much for me! SO, I headed back and here are my treasures- 4 boxes of Frosted Flakes, 3 boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, 2 boxes of Cheerios, 2 packages of cookie dough, 2 packages of Gogurts, 1 cake mix, 12 cans of Progresso soup, and a gallon of milk. I walked out the door paying $10.07!!! That is a savings of 90%-to top it off in one of the boxes of fruit snacks that I purchased on my first trip to Albertsons I won another $5 Discover Card!! Yes, it has been a very good day!!
