Adam is not.
We drive each other crazy, but somehow we work.
If I had it my way, this trip would have been planned a month ago!
But not Adam! He is what you call a spur of the moment kind of guy.
We bought Lion King tickets Friday NIGHT, and we left for Vegas Saturday morning!
We arrived in Las Vegas at 12:30 and headed straight for Mesa Grill. The shrimp tamale was so good that I didn't even have time to take a picture before everyone had devoured it! The goat cheese queso dip was great (even the kids loved it), the bacon cheese hash brown quesidilla was tasty, and the tomato soup rocked! And that was just what we had for starters!
After lunch we walked around and shopped for a bit. Adam gambled a little, and finally convinced me to try it. I haven't gambled forever! I bet it has been 10-12 years, yes I used to go gamble when I was 19, I am such a rule breaker...
Adam had been losing, winning, then breaking even on the dollar slots. That was just too much for me to risk, so I went to the quarter slots. I asked him if he would be embarrassed if I sprayed the machine off with Lysol (yes I carry some in my purse) he said don't you dare!
I put in a $20 and walked away with $40, which pumped Adam up and he had to play "just one more time." He should know better, but he doesn't. He lost. I guess he needs a lesson from his wife on how to gamble!
After that it was time for the show! I found a coupon code for our tickets which save us about $300! Our seats were in the lower section and were PERFECT! We had isle seats and the "animals" (elephants, cheetahs, birds, etc.) walked right by us, brushing against us as they walked to the stage. Very cool! The show was incredible! They did such an amazing job! Rafiki was my favorite, they way she talked, sang, moved, WOW~she was awesome!
After the show we had planned to go back to Mesa (we had told the waiter that at lunch) and we didn't even think to make reservations, by the time we got there they told us they were booked until 10pm (eleven our time) and could get us in then. Ummm, we have three kids...no thanks.
So we headed to Spago's, which is always delicious. We didn't get a room because rates were so high~the suite that we usually get at the Venetian is usually $239 and it was $499 and other hotels were even worse! So we decided to drive home. We pulled in a little after midnight. It was an exhausting day, but I loved every minute of it!
