More of the weekend...4/6/2010

Last night the NCAA final game was SO intense! It would have been great to see Butler win, but I had to root for Duke since it would put Jdog in second place in our family NCAA challenge! The game was on so late that the kids didn't get to stay up to watch it, especially since Tuesday mornings we have to be out of the house an hour and fifteen minutes earlier than normal to make it to piano lessons! So I decided to use my MAD pancake designing skills this morning (I know you are all jealous) and surprise him with the news! He was SO excited! Koda and Sis were giving him ideas on how to spend his $90.00 win, his response~ I think I will put most of it in the bank!

Koda would wait for the big bucket of water to dump before heading back up to the slide. He didn't like it splashing all over him! Sometimes he would be so caught up in watching the BIG bucket, that he would forget that there was a little bucket above him and get SOAKED!!

Friday I had planned to take the kids to the Arts Festival, and then to the movie. The main reason I wanted to festival was to eat Irmita's. Sure I can go to the restaurant any time I want, but only at catering jobs do they make the taco's and mulita's with soft yet crispy, bursting with flavor onions and peppers! Kolby went with us and I stood in Irmita's line while he took the kids to different food booths to get their food. I patiently stood in line for FIFTY minutes, but it was worth it!

I don't take the kids to movies very often. Wait a minute, that might be an UNDERstatement! I have taken them to MAYBE three movies in ten years! I hate the movies. They are dirty, sticky, smelly, and did I mention dirty? They have been BEGGING to see How to Train a Dragon (very cute movie), so I surprised them on Friday and took them to it. Obviously I HAD to take a picture! It was almost in unison that they said "MOM do you HAVE to take a picture?!?" I guess I am getting embarrassing, but they are going to have to live with it!

Note to self: Do not make bets with Jdog when it comes to golf. He is better than you are, he knows what he is doing! If you tell him you will give him $1 for every chip in, he will make SIX in less than thirty minutes!
