Owl, Gym, & Soccer~ 10/9/2010

I think that Bailia's coach reads this blog. Or maybe someone he knows reads it. Today he acted completely different than he has at the previous five games, he even cheered for her! So whatever the case may be, thank you! She walked away from this game with a smile on her face, excited for next week!

Our weekend...10/3/2010

Bailia has a coach this year that simply doesn't like her. It is sad that she noticed it, but I'm happy that she is starting to grow up enough that she just keeps doing what she loves. Playing soccer!
She came home from soccer practice last week asking~ "Do you know why the coach never tells me good job? Even when I make a goal he won't tell me good job, but he tells all of the other girls good job when they don't even do anything!?"
What do you say to that? It broke my heart! I know that Bailia can be hard to deal with, but to act like that?! Come on, who's the adult in this situation?
I told her to just stay positive & play hard, that you never know when another coach will be watching you, and might want to recruit you to their competitive team!
That pep talk obviously worked! She scored four goals in the first quarter! It was amazing, and SO exciting to watch. She sat on the bench the second quarter, then at halftime she begged to go back in. He told her she could be goalie, she said alright and asked in the 4th quarter to play forward again. The coach told her all of the other girls were too tired to play goalie, so she needed to stay goalie.
Bailia's not dumb, she said I knew he didn't want me to play forward, you don't get tired playing goalie, you get tired running on the field!
Sad.
But she stayed on as goalie and blocked everything that came her way! Way to go Sis, we are SO proud of you!



Koda started out the game on the bench. Just before kickoff Koda hollers "Coach, I'm ready to come in, whenever you need me to!" This is coming from the kids who used to ask to sit on the bench every chance he had! After they had to call the game, because of high winds & lightening, Koda said I can't wait until next week, I'm going to kick some butt!

Dear Santa...ALREADY?!?! 10/3/2010

As I picked up Bailia's room this afternoon I found a paper folded up. I went to throw it away, because let's face it, Bailia has hundreds of papers folded up stashed in her room. I decided to open it up and saw that it was a letter to Santa.
Really Bailia?!?! You do realize it is October, right?!
It said~big dress that looks like a golf ball with Callaway golf sign on it (it gets better) with 4" high heels! (Someone needs to tell Bailia she is only NINE!)
She has that marked under her "spiritual" gift. For those of you that haven't had the talk with Santa about your kids writing way too many things on their wish lists, you really should call him up! I talked to him many years ago and we decided that three gifts from Santa would be plenty! After all, that's how many gifts the three wise-men brought to baby Jesus.
So when thinking about their gifts my kids pick a spiritual gift (In this letter Bailia picked a new dress for church), an educational gift (Bailia would like a recording studio?!?!?), and a fun gift (a new golf bag).
Her list will change at least 82 times (since there are only 82 days until Christmas!!) I can't wait to see what else will pop up on her updated lists! I heard her talking about wanting a wetsuit earlier! Oh Bailia, you crack me up!

Soccer Superstar?!? 9/23/2010

Koda has flipped a switch overnight. He is, dare I say, a GREAT soccer player now! He slides to kick in goals. He flies from one end of the field to another in the blink of an eye! He even breaks through the pack, taking the ball with him!
During this game, he blocked four goal attempts! They lost this game, but there's always next week! We can't wait to watch our little animal in action again! Go KODA!

Bailia had her first ever friend party. My rule is "every other year" friend party, family party. But every year they are supposed to have a friend party, I seem to talk them out of it. This year Bailia begged to have a friend party, and at the last minute I said yes. I had four days to plan the party, and I just happened to have it on one of our busiest days! A had gone out of town, I went to pick up my bountiful basket at 7:00 (just to find out that they had the wrong time on the computer so they were an hour behind schedule), then we raced to Bailia's soccer game at 9:00, finished at 10:15 picked up the cake from Costco, headed home to change & pick Kenna & Jake up, went to the party (thank you Barefoot for doing everything!), finished the party raced home to have Koda change into his soccer gear, went to his game at 2:00, and finished the crazy day at the rodeo at 6:30! Whew! But we all survived, and Bailia loved every single second of her party!
