J's class talent show 5/18/2010

I lost sleep last night thinking about today's talent show. I know I am weird, but it was nice to hear that my friends were just as nervous!
The big class talent show started at 2:00~when Jdog walked in he came over and told us that his stomach was hurting because he was SO nervous! We told him he would do great, and he did! He played the piano and it sounded beautiful-I love watching and listening to him play! Kenna danced to a beautiful song, and looked like a little princess~it was Jaden's favorite talent to watch~shocking I know! Kaylee did a great job playing the piano, and Kate, who plays the piano and does ballet, chose to go out on a limb and sing Party in the USA, and did a better job than Miley!
I am so proud of Jaden and all of his friends~they have amazing talents and I hope that they continue to develop them! Getting up in front of a group to perform isn't an easy thing to do, I honestly don't think I could do it! Way to go kids~you were all amazing!

Golf Store & Final Soccer Game~5/15/2010

The kids had their first taste of summer yesterday, and they LOVED it! Perfect weather, best friends, good food, and a great relaxing day spent together! They all were in the sun a little too long and each ended up with pink (or in Bailia's case bright red) cheeks, but I don't think they even noticed since they were having so much fun! With eight and a half school days left it is time to start cheering~BRING ON SUMMER VACATION!





The end of soccer season is always a bitter sweet time. I LOVE watching the games, seeing the kids improve each week. But having the season over takes four things to do off of my to do list each week-two hour long practices and two hour long games.
Yesterday Bailia lost her final game. During the game I had three people come up to me and tell me how great they thought Bailia played. One of Bailia's team mates dad told me that Bailia is amazing and has such skill, the other two people were the referee's, one said that she had watched Bailia all season and was so impressed how good she played and just kept getting better. The other referee told me she thought that Bailia was a great player, but more importantly she thought that Bailia's attitude on the field was good no matter if they were winning or losing.
Bailia is growing up-both in her skills on the field, and the attitude that comes with age. Even though she was disappointed that they didn't win their final game, hearing what so many people had to say about her, made her day!
Koda won his final game, and almost scored two goals! He went from sitting out most of the game at the start of the season, to putting his all into each game at the end of the season. Granted having his inhalers back, and being able to breath again might have something to do with it, but we are still proud of how well he did for his first season!
I love looking through all of the pictures I take at each game...yesterday it was 368 photos, yes I am obsessed! When I look at Bailia's pictures I love the look of determination on her face. When I look at Koda's pictures it makes me laugh seeing a smile on his face in almost every picture!

Happy Mother's Day! 5/9/2010

Before getting married, I thought I knew what love was. Before becoming a mother, I thought I knew what unconditional love was. Obviously, I was wrong. I can't even put into words how much I love Adam and my kids. Even though I wish I could be a better wife and mother, I hope my family knows how much I love them and that I would do anything for them.
I also want to thank all of the women in my life~my mom, my mother-in-law, Nan, and all of my lady family and friends. I admire you each for different reasons, and you make me want to become a better person and mother. Happy Mother's Day! I love you.

Mother's Day dinner at Parallel 88~5/7/2010

Adam surprised me this morning with the news that we were going on a date tonight. He had even called Gary to watch the kids! We haven't been on "a date" since our anniversary...which is the first week of November! We are pathetic, I know.
I have read many great reviews on the restaurant, Parallel 88, in Springdale, so we decided to give it a try. We decided to try a couple of appetizers, and four, yes four, entrees. We wanted to give the restaurant a fair review, and sometimes that can't be done with just one or two dishes. Our appetizers came and sadly we didn't like either one. The first appetizer we took one bite of and didn't eat any more of it. The second appetizer was edible, but it wasn't great.
Our waitress offered to take our picture, of course I wanted ten, we were on a date, and with such a rare occasion it needed to be documented! I hand her the camera and she steps back to take the picture. We get ready to smile and before she can snap the picture there is a loud CRASH and I see my camera slam down on the cement! It landed on the lens, completely bent it, snapped off a few pieces, and made it completely unusable! She felt so stupid, it was a total accident, but it made me sick to my stomach, if only it would have happened AFTER I had taken all of the pictures I wanted instead of having to use my camera phone! But, what's done is done, and we just had to laugh, it actually became funny to us after a while, and we couldn't stop laughing! Sad, but funny.
Our entrees arrived and they looked great. We ordered the Fillet, Ahi Tuna, Lamb Shank, and the Pork Tenderloin. It sounds like a ton of food, it may even look like it, but we didn't eat it all, and didn't enjoy it. Maybe it was the camera incident, maybe it was the food, but we won't go back. The thing that probably topped off the night was the fact that our waitress did nothing to try and take the blow of breaking my TWO month old camera! Not even an appetizer comp?!?!? Come on now!
After dinner we drove down to the Pizza Noodle, ordered a pepperoni pizza and a cheese bread, and we were happy! It is a memory that will last a lifetime, but though it sounds like a crappy night, I enjoyed every minuted of it! I desperately NEEDED a date night, thanks for the fun time A!

Field Trip #3 Jacob Hamblin home~5/6/2010

It is funny how this week has flown by, but lasted forever at the same time! I don't know how three field trips, a doctor appointment, school, gymnastics, soccer, golf, homework, and other daily runarounds have fit into one week! I am happy to say the field trips are over, for this week anyway! Bailia and Jaden each have one on Monday! If I can make it through the month of May alive, it will be a MIRACLE!
