It finally feels like summer...7/9/2010

We are 43 days in to summer vacation, and today it FINALLY feels like summer! We have been going nonstop since school got out and I have finally had enough! I called and put Sis & Koda's gymnastics accounts on hold for the month of July, so we could breath for a while. With the three kids in gym-Jdog going Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for 3 1/2 hours in the morning-Bailia going on Tuesdays & Thursdays for two hours in the afternoon, and Koda going in for two hours Wednesday afternoons it felt like I was there all day every day! On top of everything else we have been doing, it just hasn't felt like we have had a break. So we are dedicating July to a month of relaxation and fun, with plenty of golf, and pool time with friends, just floating the days away . . .

4th of July Weekend Fun~7/4/2010

We took a super quick weekend trip up to Salt Lake for baby Abigail's blessing. We had such a fun trip, I am still smiling just thinking about it! I took almost 650 pictures and narrowed it down to this LONG list of scrap pages!
We arrived Friday night and headed to Lone Star- a Mexican dive that specializes in fish. Fish tacos, fish burritos, fish tamales...In other words, it is my kind of place! It was delicious. I want to go back, now!
When we got back to the hotel the kids, of course, wanted to swim. We went down and there were two boys and a girl, around 11-13 years old, already swimming. The kids started swimming and soon started playing with the other kids. After a while they headed over to the hot tub where the oldest boy said OMG! He had said it quite a few times before that, but the kids hadn't heard him.
Koda's eyes about popped out of his head, and said loudly that is a really bad word!
Bailia tried to whisper to Coop that not everyone believes what we do.
The boy said what word?
Koda said, God is the worst swear word ever, you shouldn't say it anymore!
They all kind of laughed uncomfortably, and kept swimming, but the boy never said it again!
I am very proud that Koda had enough courage to stand up for something he believes in!

I can't believe how much we fit into one day! We started out at the zoo, then headed to Park City, ate lunch, came back to Salt Lake, shopped for a few hours, went to Build a Bear, then out to dinner, and finished off the night at the pool.
It didn't feel like the 4th of July at all, without the usual fireworks, but we had a total blast!
