Easter Fun, Golfing in Beaver, & the Track Meet! 4/12/2009

Happy Easter one and all!
This year I am SO glad the Easter Bunny didn't get out of control like every other year. I had to have a talk with Santa and the Easter Bunny about always going overboard~surprisingly enough they both listened! This year each of the kids found about 15 eggs each instead of the about 40 a piece they usually get! Mom and Dad gave the kids each a sand bucket, a toy, a dvd, some bubbles, and some play-doh. Simple? Sure. Was it enough? Plenty!

Bailia made sure that the Easter Bunny had a card and some Broccoli because "The Easter Bunny probably gets sick of the carrots other kids leave out for him!"This year I decided to try tie-dye T-shirt spray, and dip dying, for the eggs-the spray may be one of my best ideas to date (although I am guessing some other genius, maybe Martha, thought of the idea long ago) it was super easy, it makes the coolest designs, the kids loved it a lot more than the dip dye, and clean-up was a breeze!

Friday the kids had their Hershey's Track Meet! They had a great time~I am sure everyone's favorite part was hanging out with friends!

Friday after school we hit the road, and headed up to Beaver to meet my parents for a round of golf! Koda's allergies have been giving him troubles again, and this is what happened after about ten minutes on the freeway! He slept the entire ride on Jaden's shoulder while Jdog read, Coop woke up stuffy, but happy!

You can see why we are willing to drive three hours round trip just to golf. All three kids can play plus Harley can go along for the ride! I LOVE the laid back life of the small town!

Koda and Sis started chasing a goose that was on the course. It ran around for a little bit then decided it wanted no part of all of the madness and flew the coop! After the golf game we went to Maria's~a little Mexican Restaurant~to warm up and have a good meal!

Program, 1st place, and 1st place AGAIN! 4/10/2009

Bailia had the 2nd grade annual How Does Your Garden Grow program. She was a darling little scarecrow and did great with her part!

We have been so lucky to have Sandra for a teacher for Jaden, and now Bailia. Sandra loves our kids as her own, and I know with her around my kids are safe and well taken care of. Bailia has grown SO much over this past year and I am thankful for Sandra helping guide her through it! It is hard to believe that there are only 30~ that's right 3 0 ~ more school days until summer vacation!
Jaden entered in the school science fair, and took 1st place! It was a LONG project five weeks-week after week-of dealing with rotting teeth. His project title is What affect do different drinks have on our teeth? He chose Diet Coke, Red Gatorade, Country Time Lemonade, Milk, Iced Coffee, Apple Juice, and Mountain Dew for the drinks. My mom works for a dentist and we were able to get enough teeth to have two teeth per drink from her dentist. The Diet Coke and Mountain dew were DISGUSTING but in the end the Country Time Lemonade was the worst drink for the teeth-eating the enamel away completely!
Koda bear ended uo taking 1st place in the NCAA cometition in our family game! He picked the teams ALL by himself and ended up 99.9% in the ENTIRE country! So out of roughly 5 MILLION people he ended up in 4971st place-NOT BAD for a five year old! So out of our family game he won $125 but then almost doubled his money by putting $100 of that money in the bank, which we always match when they choose to put money in the bank! Jaden took 2nd place winning $75 and Adam took 3rd winning $50! The Milne family swept the game this year-out of 25 people who entered our family ended up the VERY lucky few!

Terrific Target & Pedicure 4/7/2009

After a busy day of shopping, and preparing ourselves for the rest of the week~which is going to be total chaos, Koda and I decided to treat ourselves to a pedicure! This was his first professional pedicure and he LOVED it! He was a little nervous at first because he thought only girls got pedicures. I told him guys go all the time-he said do they have blue and green polish? I told them they do, and that convinced him that guys must get them! The funny thing is that as we were getting ready to leave a little old man and his wife came in to both get a pedicure! I sure am going to miss my little side kick when he starts school next year!

I am very excited about today's shopping trip to Target because for the price of just the Leapster I bought ALL of this! Here is the run down~
Pledge Multi-surface cleaner, Green Works cleaner, 7 pkgs of gum, 3 bags of Hershey Bliss Chocolates, 2 boxes of fruit snacks, 2 bags of fruit snacks, 2 boxes of Eggos, 2 bottles of mustard, 3 bottles of soap, 1 bottle of McCormick spice, 2 packs of muffin tin liners, 8 Yoplait yogurts, 2 packs of Danimals, 2 deoterants, one body mist, 2 bottles of Tylenol, 1 bottle of Listerine, a Leapster gaming system, 1 tube of toothpaste, one bottle of shampoo and one bottle of conditioner, and two warm delight cakes.

Soccer Win and Sweet Bailia 4/4/2009

Bailia had a GREAT soccer game today! IT was VERY exciting with a LOT of action! All of the girls did great and have come SO far this season!
After Bailia made her first goal all of the girls ran over to her for a group hug! What a supportive, fun team she has!
She made two out of her teams five goals and they won 5-2. This is their first win (the other games have ended in a tie) and she is SO excited! Thanks again Grandpa Gary for coming to her game again-also to Luke and Megan for coming to support Bailia-she loves every second in the spotlight!
After a LONG day of homework, book reports, and fighting kids (do they ever stop fighting?) I found a little note that said~Clue #1. I followed the clues one through five and ended finding two paper plates tied together with ribbon hidden under my pillow. Inside the plates I found a little brown card that read~Dear Mom, You are the best Mom I could ever get.
Thank you Bailia I REALLY needed that today! You are the BEST~I lOvE yOu!

Wildlife Museum & Shopping Trip! 3/31/2009

Cooper and Ella have been wanting to play together FOREVER! Yesterday they finally had their chance! I first took them to lunch-I tried to talk them into pizza-then Ella said let's get a kids meal at McDonalds! YES! Cooper shouted "My mom never lets us go to McDonalds!" In my defense they get to go there once in a while! So I pull into the parking spot and Koda made my day by saying "Eeww Gross we are going to eat inside? It's so dirty!" Thank you Koda~I am very proud of you BUT sometimes your Momma can't always be so weird! So inside we went and had a nice dirty lunch of chicken nuggets and apple slices.
Then I took the kids to the Wildlife Museum and they LOVED it! They were SO silly together~Ella gave Cooper lectures on why he shouldn't be so shy around her at school! Cooper, in return, gave her a lecture on not sitting by him enough in class!

They wanted their picture taken with the bear tracks-and gave me the meanest bear face they could muster! I was scared to DEATH! ;-)
While at lunch I sent Cooper to take a load of trash to the trash can-Ella ran over to me and said "I have a secret that you can't tell anybody~I have a big crush on Cooper!" and ran back to her seat. Hmm, from the looks of the pictures I think Koda may have a bit of a crush on Miss Ella as well!

My shopping trip went VERY well today-here is the run down~ 1 gallon of Chocolate Milk, 3 packs of gum, 4 pack of boneless skinless chicken breasts, 6 pack of pork chops, 4 jars of salsa, 8 cans of refried beans, 2 bottles of BBQ sauce, 6 bags of Halls cough drops, 6 boxes of Capri-sun juice boxes, 2 packs of the 4 cup pudding, 2 bags of marshmallows, 8 boxes of taco shells, and 20 boxes of cereal!

Run to your nearest Albertsons to snag some AMAZING deals! The word about the great deal has spread (I saw some people with 80-100 boxes of cereal), so they are starting to run low on some things, but the manager told me that they are getting a truck of everything tomorrow morning!
My Total before sales and coupons $235.17 and after...$29.36 (I actually did a little happy dance in the checkout line!)

3rd Soccer game, Golf, and March Madness!

Bailia LOVES to draw anything and everything! So for the past few days A has been giving Sis "art classes". She is completely eating it up (even though her daddy claims he can't draw) it's the little things in life, like watching your daughter with her dad that totally make your day!
After church the kids and I headed over to Red Hills to see how the guys (Adam, Jed, John, and my dad) played. As soon as we pulled in the parking lot Jed and Adam drove right by us to the #1 tee box! What nice timing!
We watched as John hit, then Grandpa. Next came Jed-and he did what we are going to call the famous Rock Shot! Now it can only become famous when you are in the middle of a tournament, with a lot of people watching, and your ball hits a boulder and bounces RIGHT back to you! Then to top it of Big Lar RUNS (and almost falls) up the hill to trying to catch the ball while laughing hysterically, because between giggles he tells us that is the THIRD time Jed has hit a shot like that!
All four guys had a HORRIBLE game and by the time we got there it has become such a joke that they couldn't help but laugh at themselves!

The beauty that surrounds us is absolutly breathtaking! Everything about our city is SO beautiful~and being on the golf course (especially Red Hills) just brings the beauty out even more!
Bailia is SO excited for school tomorrow so she can show everyone the "awesome fossil" that she found while we were waiting at Red Hills!

Bailia is always fun to watch at her soccer games! She loves playing, and can't wait to score a goal. She scored one goal this game and the game ended in a tie 1-1! Thanks Grandpa Gary and Uncle Jed for coming to the game!
I can't believe how well Cooper is doing in our March Madness group! Every year for as long as I can remember we have put together a group and we all fill out our brackets. It is $10 an entry and we give out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Last year I took first-this year it's not looking too good for me. Koda on the other hand is another story! He is doing GREAT so far! He is first in our group, and 99.3% in the COUNTRY! Now I know how quickly that can change so he may not win~but while he is on top he can live it up! When asked what he will do if he wins "I am getting a Swim to me Puppy FOR SURE!!"

Cinderella Boy & Shopping Trip 3/26/2009

The big kids ALWAYS complain that while they are in school Matt gets to do "ALL of the FUN stuff"! Well if they think doing chores and yard work is fun then they can stay home too! On second thought, they were just home for TEN days and they didn't think it was very much fun~nor did their Momma! So although Koda looks like he is having a lot of fun, he actually works pretty hard!
Cooper's main goal for working so hard this past week was to earn money. He has wanted a Swim to me Puppy for quite some time now. I told him if he worked really hard he might be able to save up enough money. I thought it would be somewhere between $10-20 bucks~boy was I wrong! The little puppy costs $30.00!! I told him that he didn't have enough money for it and he said "that's ok-I really want a buzz gun too and it is only $3.99"! I love that he is such an easy going kid and is just happy to be alive.

My Target Shopping trip went GREAT today! I bought 3 Gillette Body Washes, 2 Secret deodorants, 4 packages of applesauce 2 boxes of Crayola sidewalk chalk, 2 Schick Quattro razor with 2 cartridges each, and 4 Schick Intuition razors with 2 cartridges each. My grand total before sales and coupons was $74.53 and I paid...$9.81!! Since Koda has worked so hard this week he was rewarded with a Buzz Lightyear backyard patrol light up shooter! Thanks Koda Bear!

Larry Look-a-Like 3/22/2009

Adam had a two day golf tournament this past weekend. The first day was at Bloomington Country Club, and the following day it was at Sun Brook. After church the kids and I headed over to see how A had played. We were all standing in the proshop, and I see this guy walk by and thought to myself-I had no idea my dad came down for this tournament. I watched him for a second and thought that can't be him-why did he not stay with us if he came down?!? Watching him a minute longer I realized that this guy has the same expressions, uses the same words (like very dramatically saying "OH my GOSH!!), and stand the same way, yet it wasn't really my dad!
Now my dad has been my dad for 25+ years so you would think I would recognize the guy if I saw him! Well A thought it was a hoot and walked over to the guy and told him that he looked just like his father-in-law, and would he mind getting a picture with my wife. So to humor me he came over-looking at him closer they don't look just alike-if he would have been standing sideways in the picture you wouldn't have been able to tell if it were him or not-but even straight on you can see the resemblance! This guy is from Eagle Mountain and I can't remember his name, but there is another guy here in town that I mistake for my dad ALL the time! He must have one of those faces!

Tell me how you REALLY feel! 3/21/2009

As I may have mentioned before, this has been a VERY long spring break. The boys wouldn't stop fighting and Bailia was PMSing! Trust me this is not a good combination! So at more than one point during the week the kids were separated into three different rooms. They were each given books, coloring books and crayons, and were told they could do one of those two things, or clean the room they were in. One particular time Bailia's hormones were getting the best of her and she DID NOT agree with this method of keeping her momma sane! This is the note left for me from my dear sweet daughter.
Thank you Bailia-next time I will try to come up with a better solution that isn't so POOPY, DUM, and STOUPID! Cooper could not believe that his sister would write such bad "swore words"!
p.s Padre quit teaching my daughter how to spell!

Park Fun! March 20, 2009

After a LONG week of spring break fighting, whining, and boredom, it was time to get out of the house! I took the kids to Nan and Larry's to play at their HUGE park, right across the street from their house! Jen decided to bring Jaxon over too and we all had a GREAT time! We started out with a lunch of sandwiches, chips, root beer floats, and twinkies! Then we all headed over to the park to play. Jen and I decided to try a few thing out that we did when we were kids...we have decided we are not kids anymore! But we had a LOT of fun trying to be! Nan even got in on the fun playing a little bit of soccer with the kids!
